2010: fiftieth anniversary

half a century is a long time and this anniversary represents a milestone in the history of this Association – and even more so due to all the commitment and the passion of those who made this group one of the greatest. For these reasons, this year the Association has scheduled a wide range of special events, in honor of its members but, above all, of all the friends who always showed their support and affection.
Photo Exhibition and Expo on the history of flags
Our photo exhibition opened August 5 and ran through October 3: 65 carefully selected pictures (including some historic images) meant to present the folkloristic and most representative aspect of the Association. The expo on the history of the flag took place at the same time: origins, roles and evolution of the exquisite “art of flag-handling”. Il saggio della Giostra
To the Aretine Flag-wavers, nothing can compare to Piazza Grande and the Saracen Joust in terms of emotion and prestige.
Arezzo, after all, is our favourite stage and our performance for the Joust of September 2010 couldn’t but confirm this. In a further attempt to amaze our public once again, new figures and allegories have been conceived, drawing inspiration from these many years of experience. Among the others, many ex flag-wavers have given their precious contribution, side by side with the current group and the new generations. Particularly significant was the presence of the historic charter members, who in 1960 ventured into this ambitious project destined to become the symbol of Arezzo around the world.

Last but not least all the guys – young and less young – for their commitment and participation.
